BACKGROUND

Mistermiss is a New York-based interior design firm, dedicated to creating deliberate and delightful experiences for luxury hotels, boutique hospitality groups, residential and workplace projects.

As life continues to move faster and faster, we seek experiences to fulfill our innate desire to be immersed in the present or transported into the past. We demand spaces that activate our curiosity and make us feel participant of something extraordinary. The market demands owners, businesses and developers to offer something unique and differentiated.

Our studio consists of a multidisciplinary team of designers, architects and project managers dedicated to the highest levels of detail and creative expression. The core team has known each other for a while and have worked together in various projects in healthcare, retail, hospitality and corporate interiors over the years while working for leading global firms. This diverse set of experiences and roles have built a level of trust to each lead their way into the execution of each project while maintaining a high level of communication, inspiration and creativity to each demand a project has. This professional and creative diversity in the studio inherently informs our experiential pursuit to all our interiors projects, furniture, lighting, textiles, home décor and product designs at any scale.

Mistermiss is a concept that started nearly a decade ago when now partners, Ric and Heather would collaborate and shape experiences bringing their unique, individual and sometimes contrasting points of view into a project. It was clear then and now, that we each had a purpose and story behind each layer. It was there and then where we realized that although we were always out in the city servicing our own clients representing a big firm, there was a gap between that kind of work and the work we thought we could do if we nurtured the relationships and projects ourselves.

In 2017, we decided to open up Mistermiss with the intent of providing the level of detail and thought we feel spaces deserve. Working with a small batch of clients who trusted our perspective and felt we could unfold their vision of their environments to represent who they are as individuals, leaders, and entrepreneurs.

Ric Hernandez

Founder / Design Director

With a background in Interior Design and Brand Design, Ric brings his experiential approach to each project. Focusing on the power of story, Ric seeks to shape a unique approach and personality to each project. His passion for people and culture has brought an extensive pool of collaborators to the studio, from fabricators, illustrators and artists from across the globe.

Micah Yeck

IIDA, RID, LEED AP / Project Manager

Micah oversees the team on a day-to-day basis from the inital programming phase through project close out and post occupancy. As project manager, she monitors projects against the established objectives, budgets, schedules, and coordinates the activities with team, client & consultants to ensure effective communication.
